Imagine antebellum Virginia. It's 1815 and a new brick house built by Revolutionary War veteran Reuben Boston has been recorded in the tax records with a value of $3,000. Eye brows are raised for only a few homes in Orange County have similar assessed value. Homes like Montpelier, Somerset Plantation, Barboursville and Frascati.

200 years later, Annandale still holds its place among these noteworthy Orange County estates and has been a significant part of the dramatic history that has shaped this county, this state and this country.

Annandale, with white washed brick and a slate roof now rests on 60 acres of gently rolling farm land just outside of historic Gordonsville.
