Charlottesville Virginia Historic Properties for Sale
Historic properties are a big part of the appeal of the Charlottesville area. Our two most iconic landmarks, Monticello and the University of Virginia are known world-wide as evidence of the genius of Thomas Jefferson. The Jeffersonian style is prevalent and revered in Central Virginia
with statuesque, red brick Federal and Greek Revival homes dotting the countryside in Albemarle County
and the surrounding counties of Orange, Madison, Greene, Nelson, Fluvanna and Louisa that make up much of Virginia’s Piedmont. For those aficionados of
historic properties, there is much to celebrate, especially with homes where particular care has been used to stay true to the original. A good example is Old Hall in the charming town of Scottsville in southern Albemarle County. Scottsville, on the James River was a thriving trade center in the mid 19th century and several prominent homes were built in town. Old Hall was built by the president of the Scottsville bank and has benefitted from conscientious stewardship since it was built in 1850.
There are many lovely historic homes for sale in the Charlottesville area from charming old farm houses to grand plantation homes. We hope you enjoy browsing this selection of current offerings and will visit soon to tour some of them in person.
